Ok...Here is a pictoral recap of the last few months that I have so badly slacked on!
1 & 2: Grandma Barb, Gabe, Griffin, and I went on a long overdue train ride on the Potomac Eagle in West Virginia. My camera died an hour in to the ride, so I was lucky to have gotten these two pictures, but I was so disappointed not to get any shots of the dozens of eagles we saw on the trip.
3: We went up to D.C. to celebrate Christmas with the family. We took 3 cars in to see the Christmas tree at the White House. It was COLD. But fun!
4: Gabe, Erin (Jon's girlfriend--they drove out for Christmas), Tori and I watched a movie and ate popcorn in bed.
5-8: These were at the lodge at NIH before Ryan's surgery. Jon was able to fly out from St. Louis and Noah and Rachel were up almost every day.
9 & 10: Griffin. Isn't he cute?? He is almost 11 months old. He LOVES Gabe, pat-a-cake, messing with the buttons on the printer, oranges, messing with Gabe's dinosaurs, crawling around with golf balls in his hands and bathtime. He hates getting his nose wiped. His new buddy is a little yellow beanie baby bear that Gabe stole from Grandma Barb's house a couple of years ago. He takes it wherever he crawls!
11: Last but not least, our brother-in-law Mark flew out for a few days. Ryan sure looks recovered in the picture--he is definitely getting more energy and feeling closer to normal!
Some more random tidbits before I go (because who knows how long it will take for me to post again??!):
-Gabe is learning a lot at Teens and Tots (his little preschool at the high school), but the other day we were talking about eggplant and he just laughed and said "Eggs don't come from plants!!" Then while talking about ears of corn he busted up and said "Corns don't have ears!" guess we need to add in some lessons about produce?
-This morning Gabe looked at me and said "I just feel like something inside of me wants to give you a present, Mommy!" So he and Ryan went to Wal-Mart where he picked out some lipgloss for me :) With glitter in it.
-We have been loving this pre-spring warm weather! I got to run out at Waid Park and actually feel hot for a change. I do enjoy winter running, but those below freezing runs in the dark before the sun has even come up are only fun for so long!
Well, it feels so good to actually get pictures on here, but I have been starting and stopping this post for about 2 hours now so I can't wait to be done and get on with the day! Gabe, Ryan and Mike are up in Roanoke, but even with just Griffin here there are so many distractions (one of them being Griffin trying to get to the printer buttons every three minutes!). Anyway, enjoy this warm weather if you can! Happy almost-Spring!
